In a remarkable initiative, he recently single-handedly funded a major road construction project in the Ezi community, which has been hailed as a transformative initiative, which aims to enhance accessibility and spur socio-economic development in the region.

Addressing newsmen at the event, Dr. Onyekwe attributed the initiative to his desire to honor the legacy of his late parents, Ogbuenyi Clement and Martina Onyekwe, who were known for their unwavering commitment to the development of Ezi.
During the grand commissioning ceremony, attended by the Paramount Ruler, HRM Obi Mohanyem I, the Obi of Ezi Kingdom, flanked by local leaders and other dignitaries, Dr. Onyekwe announced a broader vision to eliminate all dirt roads in the community. He also unveiled a strategic plan to replace all dirt roads with modern reinforced dual drainage systems, interlocking pavement stones, and asphalt.
